How can I contact River Auto?

Our address is 21A/1631 Wynnum Rd, Tingalpa QLD 4173. Please feel free to drop by or give us a call on 0411520008 during office hours.

What are your office hours?

Is bond/deposit required?

If you are booking a vehicle online you will be required to pay a booking deposit to secure your vehicle rental. The deposit amount is then deducted from the total amount of your hire.

River Auto charges $400 as a security bond on all vehicles, and this security bond must be paid using a valid credit card or bank issued Visa or Mastercard debit card. Credit card owners must be present with their licence.

Are the vehicles insured?

Yes, all our vehicles have full comprehensive insurance. The insurance cover is included in your rental price.

The standard excess of $1,500 will be charged in the event of an accident or for any loss or damage during the hire period.

Items not covered by insurance or your damage waiver includes but is not limited to:

  • Damaged tyres or missing items (i.e. keys, etc.)
  • Under body damage

How do I pay for my hire?

You can pay for your car hire by credit card, PayPal or cash.

You can pay for your car hire using cash or bank transfer at the start of the rental, however, River Auto rental agreements must be secured using a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or bank issued Visa or Mastercard debit card.

You can also pay using PayPal online for your rental deposit only.

The security bond must be paid using a valid credit card or bank issued Visa or Mastercard debit card.

How can I book a vehicle?

You can book a vehicle by simply clicking on the HOME button in the menu, and filling out a booking form, or by calling 0411520008. If you choose to reserve a car online, we will contact you to confirm your reservation.

Can I change the car after the reservation?

Yes. If you would like to change or cancel your reservation of a car after approving it, please call 0411520008 or reach us by contacts provided in the Contacts page.

Where do I pick up and return my hire vehicle?

Our office is located at 21A/1631 Wynnum Rd, Tingalpa QLD 4173. The vehicle has to be returned to our office.

If you want to choose a location to pick up or drop off your vehicle, please contact us for custom pricing.

What should I do, if the car breaks down?

If your car breaks down, please call us immediately on 0411520008.

Do you deliver vehicles outside of Brisbane?

Yes, we may deliver your vehicle to the location of your choice for an additional fee. Please contact us for custom pricing.

Who can hire and drive your vehicles?

All drivers must be over 21 years of age, and hold a full, unrestricted open licence. If you require to carry a medical certificate to drive, this must be presented at the time of hire. We accept state, overseas and international licences.

Do you charge for additional drivers?

No, River Auto does not charge for additional drivers. When you pick up the car at the start of the hire you can add drivers to the rental agreement without incurring any additional charges. Please note any additional drivers nominated must have a full driver licence and sign the rental contract in person.

What do I do if I have an accident?

Call River Auto on 0422006030 as soon as possible. Notify the police if the accident involves injury. Record full details of all parties and vehicles involved in the accident (drivers name, licence number, address, telephone number, email address, vehicle registration number, vehicle make/model, insurance company and apparent damage). Record the details of any witnesses, and take photos of the incident. Do not make any admission of liability. When you return the vehicle you will be required to complete a full accident report form.

Do I get unlimited kilometres with my hire?

Yes, you will get unlimited kilometres for every vehicle with River Auto.

Can I return my vehicle early?

We require at least 24 hours notice when returning a hired vehicle early. The daily rate on any discounted, package or special hires may be recalculated at standard daily hire rates. Any refunds given will be at the discretion of River Auto.

Are there additional charges for returning vehicle late?

Any unauthorised late return will attract a surcharge of $25 per hour up to one full day’s rental and a further full day’s rental at the standard rate for each 24 hour period or part thereof until the vehicle is returned to River Auto. Please contact River Auto if you wish to extend your rental.

Do I need to refuel the car before returning it?

Yes. All River Auto’s vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel. The vehicles must either be returned with a full tank of fuel or the renter will be charged a $20 refueling fee plus the cost of the fuel. All fuel costs are the hirer’s responsibility.

Can I also rent extras such as GPS, baby seat etc?

For additional cost, we can supply you with:

  • GPS
  • Trolleys
  • Straps
  • Baby seats

Please contact us for pricing, and please advise us if you wish to hire any of those extras with your booking.

How do I pay for toll charges?

All River Auto rental vehicles are registered and fitted with a Linkt toll tags. Any tolls accumulated will be charged accordingly, or this can be finalised at the end of the hire period.

Can I extend my hire car?

Yes, this may be done upon collection of the hire vehicle or during your hire. If the vehicle is available and a successful payment for the extension is made in advance.

Can I smoke in my hire vehicle?

No. Smoking is not permitted at any time in any River Auto vehicle. If the vehicle is returned smelling of cigarette/cigar smoke or similar, you will be liable for the full cost of cleaning.

What happens if I get a speeding, parking ticket?

In the event that River Auto receives an infringement notice for a speeding, parking, or other traffic infringement relating to the period the vehicle was on hire, River Auto will process a statutory declaration stating that the vehicle was on hire and provide name, address, and driver licence details of the hirer. The authority who issues the infringement notice will then forward the infringement notice to the hirer requesting payment. River Auto will charge the hirer a $30 administration fee for transfer of liability for the notice to the Hirer.

In case of an accident, what excess am I liable for?

Your insurance excess liability is $1,500 for every single event of an accident or for any loss or damage during the hire period.
